Well, finally... Got away from the rat-race of work and grand-parenting long enough to check out the forum and report in. The autocross went pretty well. The engine pulls like a freight train, plenty of power, no overheating or eating camshafts or any of that bad stuff.

Car is still entirely too loose. Played with tire pressures a bit, not change. After it was all over, James said "So how old ARE those tires?" And that may be (a part of) the problem. Gonna do some other stuff like alignments and maybe rebuild the shocks, too. But I think some new skins are in order.

And now, after chasing Jamie around all afternoon, I'm going to bed! OK, I may read a few more build logs, but it won't be long... ZZZZZzzzzz...

Brag, brag, brag... Even if I wasn't fast, Team Slotus was lookin' good!

Photography by Turtleshark Shooter. Look him up on FaceBook, he does some good work. Some of the pictures are kinda "grainy" looking. It was a combination of rain, and the safety stewards made the photographers set up far away due to the course design.

I kinda like that last one. The first shot is before it rained, second one is while it was coming down and the last one is just after it stopped, still kinda misty.

The more eagle-eyed amongst you may notice the nose is almost all black now, with green flames, purple end plates and several stickers missing. There's some other places that got "cleaned up" as well, with a few more stickers missing. All of that is in preparation for doing some vinyl wrap stripes in the near future. That, and I wanted to look more like Batman...

Is this some sort of record? 2x in a row without a report of something breaking?

Looks like you are finally getting to have some fun.

SSHHHHH, Chuck, you'll break the spell! Yeah, the ol' DogA$$ Slotus has been running quite well here lately. Now, if we can just teach the Dumb A$$ Driver how to properly operate the motor vehicle, we might have something.

Congratulations, JD. And, you know what else? You look 150 lb. lighter when you're driving the Slotus. I hope the same holds true for me when mine is on the road - beats dieting.

Cheers,

Hi Lonnie! Thanks, Bro... I feel lighter when I'm driving it too! However, there's a picture from a few months back that kind of refutes both statements.

The guy driving obviously has no neck... Perhaps the picture caught me in mid-transformation from "Normal" to "Hulk Mode"... Or maybe I just don't have a neck...

Any way, when you drive yours, I'm sure you'll look jussssst fine! (And I feel certain that you'll have a neck!)

@GonzoRacer

Yeah, but that was before your new, sparkeley, green racing stripe on your helmet visor. You're OK now.

Cheers,

Perry- Best answer I can give you at the moment is "Maybe." The trackers I've seen show Dorian coming ashore down midway along the east coast and turning northward up the peninsula as the storm weakens. Those are the predictions. Problem is, Dorian didn't read the predictions. We shall see... :?

And the latest from NOAA shows the storm veering northward before it gets to FL and going up the east coast.
Waiting for a hurricane is like being stalked by a turtle. Stay tuned...

You've got all the suspense there of the forest fire season here. Good luck, hope it misses you.

Hi Kristian! Yeah, sort of... Storms move slower than fires, I think. But the waiting is the same.

*Trying to "click" the heels of the ruby flip-flops* "There's no place like Team Slotus Headquarters! There's no place like Team Slotus Headquarters!" That was a good one, MV8! Well played!

We are working on converting the Batmobile to a right-and-proper striped up, sparkly, multi-colored, tacky sumbeach as befits Team Slotus. Stay tuned!

Storm tracker from NOAA still looks like we're out of the path or even the influence of the storm. Yay!

That's good to hear JD, does that mean you can put your Pomades away for another season? No more wind this year?
