I made some more progress last night, the blog was updated as well.

I've completed most of the out limits of the frame. Pictures are posted on the blog but I'm not yet sure how to post them here. I check FAQs but didn't see anything, do they need to be hosted elsewhere and linked here?

Nope, no offsite hosting is required. Just attach them to your post right off the hard drive. Click the browse button in the attachment field below the field you type your post into. Just make sure they are a reasonable size. (smallish)

Cant wait for the required heres me sitting in the frame dreaming picture!

Didn't make much headway today, checked all welds, flipped the frame and welded the undersides. Also added a second brace for the firewall area.

Looks good. Don't go crazy with the welder until you get your support tubes tacked in place. All those angled pieces provide the support needed to minimize the heat distortion your frame will experience during the final welding.

I had thought about that, I think I'll take your advice. Last thing I'd want is to have to restart after where I'm at.

BTW How many people have more fun building their cars than driving it? I can't imagine having much more fun than I am now... Maybe that's just the anticipation of getting to drive it.

So I've completed as much of the frame as I'm comfortable with without having the engine, transmission, drive shaft and rear end. I spoke with a guy who had an 88 RX7 (for CHEAP) on Friday, I was all set to go see it and about 30 minutes before we were supposed to meet he tells me his wife sold it. :cry:

I did put it on the bathroom scale yesterday and the build thus far comes in at 105 pounds. It came it a little heavy due to the 14 gauge steel tubing which I was more comfortable welding.

Its hard to believe it's been 9 months since I started this project. I knew it wouldn't be completed overnight but it seems like I should be farther along than I am. This month I've been hitting it hard to try and make some progress. I've gotten the majority of the drive line installed, engine, transmission, rear end. This past weekend I started the exhaust manifold and started working on the front suspension.

Truth be told, this is a lot more work than I anticipated it was going to be. Nothing is easy! Now that's not to say I expected it to be a walk in the park but did not plan on running into supply issues along the way. Most of that's my fault but whatever.

OK, sounds like your build is going absolutely normally :D You try not to be too optimistic at the start but secretly think that you will just be able to blitz through some things and make pretty fast progress but some how those little things crop up :BH: and you end up spending more time than you anticipated.

You're nearly at one of the major stages, rolling chassis with drivetrain. So push on and look forward to the first barebones spin up and down up driveway.

I figured I wouldn't take that photo until the car was sitting on it's own weight, not on jack stands...
