Finally finished my front arms and am pleased with the result. Have done mock ups and clearance and bump steer issues were all fine.

Thanks for the compliments, I did put a bit of thought and effort into them but I can't lay claim to the tig welding, despite having access to one at work. I can use it but not that well. Here in NZ you are only allowed to tig weld your suspension arms and then they have to be crack tested so I had the local Seven manufacturer, McGregor Motorsport, do them.

My endeavour just became distinctly more British and less Japanese today. I am on my way home from Germany and happened to find myself with an overnight layover in England. Not being one to let an opportunity slip by, I hired a car, pointed it toward the Midlands, stopped by Canley Classics and picked up a pair of trunnionless Triumph vertical links to take the place of the Miata's uprights. Thanks to Clare and Phil for being so helpful! Another 20 miles and I arrived to Stafford Vehicle Components for a pair of black 5-3/4" headlights with H4 Xenon bulbs.





So, the new plan for the front suspension is to make a hybrid upright using the Triumph vertical links, custom machined spindles and the Miata hubs to maintain the 4 x 100 stud pattern. The question for the crowd is does anyone know of a common ball joint or tie rod end available in North America that fits the upper taper of the Triumph vertical link? I was thinking of using the Fiat/Lada one that Canley and Caterham use, but decided against it.

Hopefully I'll be able to get home tomorrow. It's supposed to snow all night....

Are you hiding a turbo up your sleeve? I don't recall seeing any talks of turbo in the thread up until this point but I know that last part and it's use very well!

Most of my experience is with nissans, I'll be interested to see what kind of numbers you pull on the miata motor.

I's gonna call that Sala Bim guy and get me a turbo... What's his number?

You're getting some nice parts. You could probably redrill the stock hubs if you want a backup plan...
