Upholstery is coming along. Side and center panels done, dash cover done and headrests done. Waiting for the center sections of the seats. Getting tired of moving the pieces of foam, I now have, every time I get in or out.

I'm back home now. We just had our first real rain in a long time 2.4 inches in the last hour or so. The grass crunched when I walked on it this morning, so I watered the plants Another "meet" will have to wait until next year for me.

Had a visitor, who was on his way to the Vancouver/Victoria B.C. Blat.
I asked if it was a hybrid or a composite - he mentioned something about frankenstein.
Weather was nice but had to cover up from the sun or else he was trying to be incognito.

Now that's an odd combination.

The color of Jack's "sun protection" matches the car (back half) and his hat/hood/head thingy matches the headrest. Almost like he is not even there at all.

So did Frankenstein's exhaust smell like a truck or like french fry's?:cheers:

I usually call that car MAX; this weekend it's FrankenMAX. Sadly, not only does it smell like a truck, it smells like both a conventional truck and a conventional car because a gas station attendant thought I was joking when I said "fill it with diesel" and he'd pumped a gallon of regular before I noticed.

Man, John's car is gorgeous--and it's frakin' fast too. It's comfortable for the passenger and has lots of cool details (I took a dozen photos and a video of the doors, for example), I don't see anything to improve. Yep, time for John to post a Completed Builds Showcase entry.

I was lucky enough to have both Jack and kartracer stop by and as a bonus got to drive both. Jacks was very well behaved and quit solid even peppy for 32 hp cant beet the mpg. Kartracers was amasing did everything great what a treat cant say enought how very inpresive it is and he did all the fab everything.

does it really lighter then tube frame?

The car weighs 1460#. Lighter - no. There are steel subframes front and rear plus the SCCA legal roll bar. The tub was very time consuming plus $300 worth of 6061-T4 aluminum, $120 in forming costs (EXTREMELY CHEAP), $250 in structural rivets and $75 in adhesives. This does not include the subframes or roll bar material. There is a lot of weight in the body also. I feel it is MUCH stiffer than a "standard" Locost 7 tube frame.
My new project is a tube frame, single seat, sports racer. SkaytR6

a.moore - I am sorry about not posting sooner. Here is an update. I have over 4000 miles on the car now. Drove it yesterday about 60 miles - at night - 36 degrees - no problem!!

Yeah, what Marcus said. I really like the 3/4 rear picture and the one with the rear deck tilted up and doors open. (Looks like the similar shot Road & Track always does of super-cars!) I bet it's a real hoot to drive, too. Good work all around, Sir!
