Yep that's the plan. Using wood to get the basic layout then I'll make a spaceframe. Billet is the final goal though.

KB58: 'glide will suit this better as the whole brief is acceleration based.

I live in one of the spicy food centers of the world so I lots of experience.

Now you see the setup you're up against, now see that GM has already done all the work for you and I'll say it again, strong as box, changable final drive ratios, shift kits, strong equal length driveshafts and all dirt cheap.

Although made in the millions, it's surprising how many people, even in the car industry, don't realise the oddball layout of GM's most common medium/heavy duty FWD box.

I think it's brilliant and it all started with the FWD 455 Oldsmobile Tornado as far back as 1966 (thankfully reduced in size and weight since then!).

BTW, 3.6 Alloytech or 3.8 V6 Commodore engine can bolt straight up - how easy is getting 1000hp from them compared to 2.0?

The K24 (2.4 litre) is a proven formula to get that kind of power. I can't use the commy V6 as it is not emmision'd enough to get rego and I've never heard of of that kind of power from an alloytech.

I've been a Honda man for years ever since I built (and sold :( ) my 12 second NA one 10 years ago

Need to get this powdercoat so started on the engine mounts

Also had to cut and setup the rollbar as the car was sent without it to save on shipping.

Hopefully get the gearbox mounts done in the next couple of days.

Anything else I really need done prior to powdercoat?

Umm, drive it first?

Powdercoating is the very last thing I ever do, it takes a day, two at the most to disassemble/reassemble a car, worth it IMO.

If it was a scratchbuilt sure but it's a kit and I need to do the panelling and get B & T done.

It's also spent a couple of weeks at sea and I want to get it blasted and coated ASAP
