That is sweet, is that a CRF450 motor? I always wanted to put one of those in a Van Van or a TRW?

I am a little envious of your workshop too....

Other than the fact that it needs another cylinder...That's a good looking little bike.

So i'm just curious, in pic one, the head tube is held in place by being tacked to a strong looking bit of tube that is welded to the build table. In pic four, you have an angle guage on it. Was the head tube tacked in place at the correct angle in pic four, before the support jig was tacked to it and welded to the build table in pic one?

Hey, that is cool. I've thought about trying that too, build up a frame to support a 100cu in S&S motor. Although I suspect that would be more dangerous than a Locost.






One day, when I have a tig welder, and a band saw, and a tube bender, and an english wheel, and a paint booth, and a hydraulic lift, and a tire changer, and a parts washer, and an engine vat, and a milling machine, and a bead blaster, and a plating tank, I'll be happy. Or at the very least I'll have variety.

Dont be I had a very nice little shop I opened a year ago and now Im back in the garage crushed in like a sardine on the bright side, It has AC, The overhead is low, and the fridge is full

Yes its a CRF450X (I think?) the diff being this one has a charging system for electric start and head lights, I'm not up on them but believe there is a kit out there for conversion?

How ironic Pook, I have been doing a bike frame for the last 2 months, gets my brain straight when I can forget about other work.

In difference to your personal creation mine is a simple copy of the Rickman Metisse that you guys in the US would know better as the "Steve McQueen" bike.

Just like you after doing many car frames it's as easy as pie and maybe more satisfying as a result can be had so much faster.

That's cool Cheap! It is a nice break cleaning up 5 welds vs 50 welds
I wish this was like it is on TV were I could tack some stuff together then send it all off to paint/body....I would be done!!!
I had to test fit the rads (they are pretty much just like they were on the dirt bike) and finish weld the exhaust today and got the tiny...tiny air shocks for the front in as well!
