Thank you Bill  ..Up until a few months ago I'd never worked with fiberglass, so I'm quite pleased with myself to have gotten to this point.. In hindsight I'm glad I took the time to make these flares, as I agree that they finish off the look.. they needed to be there all along..

----------------------

Seems you and I were about 4 feet from each other KB58, and didn't even know it  ...As for the show, yes, a lot of chrome, and a lot of turbos..

Every now and again I'm made to feel my age, which at 49, is not the 22 my brain thinks I am. The omnipresent music at the show was one of those reminders.. I was in line at the Bratwurst truck, and the lyrics over their sound system demanded my attention (yes, even the food truck had a system). "My bitch F*** me up!... My bitch F*** me up!... My bitch F*** me up!..." over and over and over while waiting for my order.. combined with everyone elses community music mindset, I went back to my car, got out my trusty noise-cancelling headphones, and listened to Podcasts on my Iphone the rest of the day.

Did I mention I'm not 22 anymore

I think I have the opposite problem...
26 and I feel like I'm 62...

Some people never have anything except ideas. Go do it.
Emissions & fuel economy haven't exactly been areas of strength for past rotary power plants, but absolutely no one with a soul has ever cared.

At 26 one can only guess what 62 feels like. At 76 I would like feeling like 62 again.

One of my favorite movie lines was Burges Meredith in Grumpy Old Men. 'One day you wake up and realize you're not 84 any more'. May not be a direct quote but is was some thing like that.

Interestingly I feel the same today as I did at 18 - 28 -38 -48 - 58 -68 -78 & 88.

I once read that inside an old person is a young person wanting to come out.

I also read that an older person is just a young person in an ill fitting suit.

They both seem right to me.

An update on the N600.. Next weekend I'm supposed to meet with a photographer/video guy from Superstreetonline.com to do a feature on the car.. Not 100% sure, but I think it will get a web feature mid June, and be in their magazine maybe by August/September.. I never count on these things until they happen, but the wheels are in motion, so to speak, so we'll see..

Also, after a bit of back and forth with Bringatrailer.com, the pictures have been taken, and the copy has been written; she's set to go to auction this Thursday (26th), and the auction will end Thursday, June 2nd.. A bittersweet event, but this has been a very gratifying project for me, and it will be kind of cool to see what the next guy does with her 8)

Wow,
That really has clean lines. Love the choice of wheels too. Shaving really "simplified", and the colour added the "lightness"
Perfect, just perfect. Great eye. Well done.
Cheers,
Stewart.

Beautiful project, I hope you don't regret selling it.

That is a beautiful photo of a great car. You should be proud. I hope it brings you the $$ that reflect all of your efforts.

Thanks guys for the kind words and support.. I hope it doesn't sound too immodest when I say this thing really did turn out better than I had hoped.. You see a thing in your mind's eye, and it doesn't always translate when it's in the flesh.. in this case, the lines, the details, the functionality, the fun factor have all come together as I'd hoped they would..

As for the regret over selling.. Surely I'll miss it, but between the stock N600 I had back in the 1990s, and now building and driving this one over the last many years, I think I'm cool with setting her free.. It's a one of a kind car that I won't be able to get back, but I've reasoned that letting this one go will give me an excuse to go obsess about something else

Gonzo- I'm calm, but I'm really worried about the next guy thinking the car needs 26" rims and a spoiler  .. THAT'S what has me uneasy

Ok guys, the auction is running at:

http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-honda-n600/

Please share it if you think you know someone who would be interested in such a thing :D ... the auction ends Thursday, June 2nd at 2p (Pacific)..

Also, you guys know this car better than anyone, so if you have any insight or a comment on the build, please don't be shy; jump in on the auction and post up your thoughts on the car, good or bad.. (Bring A Trailer has a cool discussion forum/thread that runs during the auction- it's fun to see the back and forth as things move along..

thanks guys-

Im in the LA area and travel past you fairly often but I nver have the open window to stop in Bakersfield to chat about cars . Best of luck, I will be watching

An update on the magazine thing..

I just confirmed a photo shoot for this car on June 2, ironically set for just a few hours after someone else wins it a auction

So to the future new owner, this car was featured in a Japanese magazine a few months ago, and in a few months from now it will be featured in Superstreet magazine, and on Superstreetonline.com

A sort-of update as the wee rocket gets a little more love- Nice folks over at Frontstreet Media took an interest in the car, and wrote a very complimentary piece on it about 1/3 of the way down the page:
