I cut a new panel from thin hardboard from Home Depot, matching the old Mini panel.

I used spray adhesive to glue thin batting to the face of the panel. Then I used the same spray adhesive to glue the upholstery material to the batting.

More spray adhesive to glue the folded edges to the backside.

The finished panel is now the same as the original except in black and without the wrinkles.

The installed panel is flat and boring but it will do for now. I'd still like to add the trim from the Nissan and the Nissan door handle but that is for another time.

I have work to do on the Locost before spring gets here. I know it is snowy and cold right now but it won't be long before driving weather gets here.

Putting a picture here so I can find it later. I took this from a post by botbasher.

This is a better looking Talbot-Lago than I posted back on page 1 and is just the look I'm going for. As soon as I finish the locost front suspension mod I'll get back to work on my body buck.

Boy, add some rear fender skirts to a Morgan Coupe and you might have siblings! there is a strong resemblance IMO

Hi Run87k - having dutifully gone through this great build-log, and followed your stunning work, it is very sad to see it just stop...
Such a shame... but I hope you are well

As has been said on this site before, sometimes life gets in the way. I retired, got divorced and moved to Maine. In the process I lost my nice garage, some tools, the Mini, and the project car. On the plus side I have traded an alcoholic, mean-spirited wife for a kind, fun loving wife. I also traded a finished house for a 200 plus year old house that needs constant attention. I also got a 1974 Corvette convertible in the deal. Now we are moving to North Carolina. The 1930s style Sports Car is not dead, just put off for a little while longer. This build log will help me remember what it was that I was doing.

I'm sure living it out was rough, but it sounds like you're in for a much better future now. I'll be looking for you to resume working at some future date.

Best of luck to you,

Damn! That front slip angle is way too large and the Ackerman is just a muddle.
