Hi everyone, great forums here.
I'm starting a build log for my '72 Honda N600 project car. I'm at the beginning of the project, more or less.

shout out to cc runner's build log, it's been very helpful.
(Saw the car at JCCS this year, very nice.)

Here is what we know we're doing so far:
Full cage
Yamaha R1 motor
Reverse box
Mid-engine!

More posts to come, arrival pics first.

Great to have you here Garm, and welcome to the site!

Your build will be a screamer

Lots of help here for when you get stuck or just need ideas.. Please take lots of pictures and post them up- BECs have some unique challenges, and it's always cool to see how each guy solves an issue..

**please do route those exhaust tips out of the center of the trunk lid- all business, spit, and snarl

Hey Garm! Glad to have you on the forum! Any friend of SpongeBob Squarecar is OK with me.
How-some-ever, I don't think Perry is gonna be able to see those pictures. Perhaps post them direct to this forum? Dunno...

With or without pics, Welcome!

ye3ah definitely post the pictures to the thread and forum, some of us are behind firewalls that won't accept links for photosharing sites, because of malware possibilitites.

all I see are little boxes with Xes in them

Thanks guys, I think the pics will show up now. I still have a little catching up to do, so here goes.

Took off all the non-essentials from the outside: bumpers, sidemarkers, spare tire, etc.

Started gutting the interior:

More preparation for the cage build. Removing tar, nasty! Dash is out.

Big THANKS to Blackbird Fabworx, who are doing most of this build for me, their shop is a block away.

Their fabrication is amazing.

and onward to the cage.

Full cage, gusseted, stitched to the body, with seat rails welded in.
This will extend into the (former) engine bay, and be expanded behind the driver to cradle the engine.

Will have BRIDE Exas III seats with SCHROTH 6-point harnesses.

Ahhh, yesss... Moti does some amazing work. His build log is around here somewhere. His welds should be in an art museum.
JD

Edit- I even mentioned him in my log, after looking at one of my particularly ugly welds...

1105 pounds with the seats/brackets in, no fuel, no front or rear glass, steel wheels. Stock motor/trans still installed.

Distribution should be really good.

Thanks for kind words, guys
I'm glad you told me about this build log, Garm!

I have some evil plans for this build, this car is just asking for it.
It's coming back to the shop tomorrow, I'm excited
