Well, here I am again. After completing my "7" last year, it was so much fun I decided to build another one. Then I thought, hey, why not build two instead of just one, you know, maybe make them different colors or something. So, I decided to build two new cars. You know the old saying, "measure twice and cut once". Well I decided to measure once and cut twice. So, off I go and buy another pile of steel and start cutting and welding. I get two frames almost completed and guess what happened? Our good friend The Oracle of Oregon, sometimes known as Jack McCornack up and decides to make some of those sexy fiberglass Lola styled bodies and offer them for sale. Well, I couldn't resist, so I called ole Jack
and tells him to send one to me asap. After waiting a short(seemed like a long) time, the big box arrived. Christmas came early in
Tennessee this year. Yippee.

I couldn't wait to see how they would look on a Seven frame.
Gonna look pretty slick if you ask me.

After seeing how good the nose and fender looked, I just had to play around with the side. Since I own a photography studio, I had some photo paper in long roll. It worked pretty good for a visual.

This paper works pretty good for determining details and fit.

And another, note the very precise lines on the side panel. These indicate the approximate position of the scuttle.

Yea, I know what everyone is thinking. I've only got half a car. Well, I thought about that and I figured I'd put a mirror back there and then I'd have the whole thing. Less work that way.

Glad to see it made it in one piece (well, thirteen pieces, but you know what I mean. It only took you 48 hours to mock up half a car, so we can expect to see the whole car by Saturday, right?

PS--if anybody's curious, the additional part (roundish, and gray on one end) is a Kokopelli bonnet bubble so there will be room for a big/bigger/biggish engine under the hood.

Those hockey stick looking things are ribs to be bonded under the scuttle. Those oval shaped pans are actually headlight buckets. They are handed left and right so your lights actually point the correct direction. At first glance I didn't realize they were different left and right.

I wish you hadn't pointed out that it was 13 pieces. At least it didn't arrive on Friday.

Here's a view with both halves of the nose in place. Now it's time to decide on a color. Any suggestions?

I vote for white. .. Any other color might remind me of shower shoes.
