For most of them I use a Notchmaster notcher with Swag Off-road updates. When I originally notched my tubes and tacked my frame I got the bottom tubes twisted and different lengths so while fixing it I got each one to short so I had to even them up. With the top tube my notcher wouldn’t work. Not a fun time!
But when I got it ( about midnight) I was to excited to sleep! Had to do stuff so I’ll get back after lunch.

For anyone that is curious, the flip up top/windshield on this car was constructed from 2 Karmann Ghias. It took quite a bit of interweb searching to find that out, so now you don't have to spend time searching. I like the look of it.

Mocked up the frame today with the body and motor before finish welding. I’m real happy with the look. The rest of the frame will be rectangular so it will go a lot faster.

Very cool looking car! But I wouldn't want to parallel park it...

Still hanging around! Not much progress. Trying to get the frame front welded. New to TIG so it’s going slow. Got a tungsten grinder and made a big jump in weld quality. Found a Ford 9”
Rear today with 31 spline axles so I have the driveline parts gathered up.

What transmission and axle ratio are you planning to run?

My trans is a 4l80e and I don’t know ratio. I’m thinking around 3:70. Got suggestions? Rear tires will be 31” tall. Car will be around 2000 lbs.

Street car? I'd pick a ratio where the engine was happy at your most common speed.

Parallel parking is not bad. You back the rear in then get out, pick up the front end and carry it in! LOL

Got out to the shop today and mocked up the front axle. I took out 7 3/4” to fit the torsion suspension like I wanted it. I’m pleased with the look.

I’m not sure why but I had to reregister to get back in. I would like to continue this thread. I have a few pictures to start again. One an overall mock up. Next my rack mount.

rear suspension.

Is there a tutorial I can read to make my pictures follow my text so I do not look stupid? Lol
