I think I see where you are going with that. Make sure you design a way that you can push the trailer on flat ground without the crank spinning carelessly out of control. Not fun :BH:

Hey Chuck, yeah we don't want no run away trailers on this site :BH:

So made it out to the shop for a few hours today. Completed fabrication of the home built trailer mover. Test fit everything, primed and painted. A bunch of pics.

Here's a vid of the trailer mover in action before prime and paint, beware of the excessive talking, I was feeling pretty chatty while the wifey took the vid

This whole trailer project has turned out quite nicely.. such peace of mind knowing your car is safe back there in it's custom cocoon..

Well done

That reminds me Chuck of a time at work. We had these company built barrel lifts consisting of pipe, a boat winch, and more pipe that made it swivel on the oil dock (I worked for the Gas Company, the saying then was 'if it can't be made from pipe it can'e be made).
Anyhow you backed the truck up to the oil dock, hooked up the barrel of oil or varsol, winched it up, swivelled onto the oil dock, then released it at stored it.
One time I was winching a barrel of oil of a truck and suddenly the handle grip came off. I lurched forward as I lost my balance and felt the wind past my left ear as the winch handle free wheeled as the barrel came back down. Scary
After reporting this near miss all company barrel lifts were taken out of service.
