While I'm waiting for the NY registration to go through for my car I'm cleaning the shop and working on a couple of projects.

I found a semi-ridged boat on Craigslist that was listed for free. It needed a little fiberglass work. Right up my ally!
I was also given an old Johnson 5hp outboard. The power head wasn't good.
I had a Honda Lawn mower engine that I had bought some time ago. Ends up that I never used it.
Yesterday I took the power head off and welded up a bracket to mount the Honda engine to it. I drilled the output shaft of the Honda engine to slip over the drive shaft of the outboard. A sheer pin hooks the 2 together.

I'm going to weld a frame that will bolt to the boat to support a 4 by 8 sheet of plywood and make a fishing boat for the ponds and small lakes that are numerous here. Add an electric trolling motor (which I have) and I'll have a nice little fishing boat. (I hope!)
