As someone who's designed and built a couple cars from scratch, if you really want to go with that engine, I'd sit the engine on an empty build table and build the car around it. Unless the donor car is large enough straight away, it really is faster and easier to start from scratch. Add a couple seats and the pedals, and the thing has pretty much designed itself.

It's awesome having you on the thread kb58 I have read your Kimini book a couple of times and it has given me a lot of inspiration. I have no doubt starting from scratch would be easier.
Well i was recommend notch the bottom rail to allow the engine to be move more to the left allowing the output to be closer to the center still not a fan of notching the rail but it sure does make it make it more simple to attach stuff.
The current position of the rack is now limited by the shifter location. Another positive of the notch is now being able to include the dry sump tank.

some more updates, finally got the front end cut off and man was I nervous when I got close to the outside panels. Also, I try out my new tig welder as you can see from the weld I still need a lot more practice. I found an outline drawing of my truck after using a free online enlargement service I inserted into fusion as a reference.

Below is how the truck currently looks with the front off and the front with some reinforcement (1.5x1.5 14 gauge)

If anyone in the forum is from Florida and can recommend a cage builder I would greatly appreciate it. Due to my work schedule, I have had to put the project in storage mode.
