I think the blanking with a stat is a great idea. Tough to restrict the bypass on that engine.

Everything is installed and I've been driving it the last few days testing it now. I think we're good. Even with ambient temperatures over 100*, the guage needle won't budge past "N" now. In fact sometimes it'll still drop a little below.
So far, I am very pleased with the results.
Now I'm waiting for a replacement to my aftermarket vacuum advance since the current one is leaking air. With that installed, i bet cylinder temps will drop even a little more.

Excellent! Guess you won't be needing to add the electric fan after all. You could add the bonnet to core support rubber and a make a radiator top tank to core support filler from rubber strip, but it sounds like you don't need it.

I may have spoke a bit too soon.it looks like its still capable of getting warm if Idling too long on a hot day but, for now, I'm content.

Taking a break from the cooling system, now I will attempt to swap out the Weber for the original set of carbs.

I've started with one, running it though the ultrasonic cleaner.

The bushings and shafts for the throttle valve are very worn. Hopefully replacement will go smoothly.

I'd go with the shroud, seal, and flap before the electric fan.

Keep your single carb and intake on the shelf. You never know if you might want to go back.
