Scrub is less critical on the rear but it is still a lever on the irs and should be minimized by moving the upright ucaps inboard an inch or two. I'd mimic the front upright balljoint positions relative to the hub center vertically and horizontally, even though your rear wheels will probably be a different offset.
Camber gain on the rear is important. The rear ultimately determines how well the car will handle once it is balanced. No point in having a front that sticks when the rear lets go.
On the spitfire, I used vsusp to design the irs to have as close to the same virtual swingarm ((approx 71 ") as the front as possible but with a slightly higher roll center. I ended up with some scrub on the rear since I'm using tbird uprights that have very little offset. My point is use similar geometry on the rear so you can make more use of the front when trying to balance out the limits of the rear. Just MHO.
A aluminum starter ring gear will wear quick but you probably won't be using it often.
