I'm new here. Having just finished racing I'm wondering what to with all my non-spouse hours. One possibility is to re-engine a 10 year old licensed and titled car.

My question is how does this affect the existing title, VIN etc? Car currently has a diesel engine. Will probably go to gas engine but might just do an electric conversion. Can I just change the engine and tell nobody? Probably not - haha.

Thanks for any info, advice, links etc. Derek

Given that Ontario has emissions testing you might want to check with MOT. If your car is already an exempt home built it may not matter, but otherwise it might be seen as tampering with emissions equipment. I have mo idea if Ontario smot requirements have an age-related exemption.

I'm hoping that someone can give me some general advice about re-licensing a car after swapping the engine. In my case that means in Ontario.

I know that the engine generally forms part of the VIN so presumably something 'different from normal' has to be done.

Any help gladly received :D :( :D
