When the Governor signs it, it will go into effect August 1, 2011 :D

FYI - looks like this won't go into effect until Oct 1st...I was getting all ready to re-register my car!!

Any updates on WA Locost registrations over the last 4 years? I've started a years-long search for where we might someday retire to and don't want to move somewhere that my car isn't welcome.

My WA registration went so smoothly it was almost scary. Took the car to the inspection lane on a trailer. Was hardly looked over. Said that wasn't their concern. They wanted receipts so take all of them. Especially engine, transmission, and rear end.

I have a more complete write up on the first page of this forum.

Good luck.

Thanks. I'm interested specifically in whether your car was registered as what you claimed it to be, "a 1961 Seven", or if there were other hoops to jump through.

Of course I realize that by the time we decide where to retire to, the laws may well have changed again, but that's another story.

They wrote it up as I asked them to. A 1963 CUSTOM Lotus Super Seven. I had a 1963 plate and I could use that. As a custom I don't have to re-new tabs every year (so far), no emission requirements, no front plate, no bumpers.
