Would it be possible for Moderators to filter virtual builders,

Thanks in advance

I understand from David Hoar of Motion Engineering in New Brunswick that he does a number of custom bike inspections for Quebequois. The bikes are being built, inspected, and I think registered in NB, and then transferred to Quebec registry. I don't know if he does similar things for Quebec cars .... He does car and bike inspections for NS, NB ansd PEI. A straightforward NS inspection is $204 plus HST, which is an incredible deal for a stamped letter from an engineer. Obviously, for that he does no structural analysis.

As a hobby we are building different
types of cars (racing, show and road)
for the past 50 or so years, here in
Quebec (Montreal) , and did not have
any problems with licensing or insuring.
My son and I are more than willing to
share our experience with those who
enjoy similar hobby.
I presume you do have SAAQ booklet
instructon on hand-built vehicles .
There at the end should be addresses
of SAAQ assigned engineers.
What type of car do you have to inspect ?
can you show some pics of it at different
stages of built ?

Hello, I will be getting my vehicule artisanal inspected soon from the SAAQ.
I would like to know where did you guys get your engineer report?
Contact info, cost, if you had any trouble...

I would also like to know, What do they require for a fuel cell?
Can I fabricate a reservoir or does it have to meet some standards?

Please feel free to contact me by email.
Thanks.

I've already posted procedure about
inspecting hand built cars in Que.
Since you are new on this forum
here is a part copy .

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Once the car is built, first step is to make appointment with local Police for the first inspection. They check that parts do not come from stolen cars, it costs about 175 $

Next step is Tech inspection, which checks that brakes, steering, lights etc. works OK
It costs about 350 $. ( for hand-buikts)
Then walks in Engineer and checks the structural side of the car, makes and sends report to SAAQ, so it is they who decide
whether the car can be plated or not.
It may take about 2 months to get answer
from SAAQ,
So Engineer report is not an absolute
factor in obtaining license plates.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

You will be assigned SAAQ certified
engineer, but only after Police and Trch
inspectiom.

Cam you post some pics of yoyr build ?

Regular inspection is as serious as
special one. If a given vehicle meets
Quebec requirements, I would still
contact SAAQ.
