the last 2 cars my dad registered cost him around 500 canadian each
for the engineer
it all depends on the engineer there is no fixed rates i heard some
t-rex replica builders writing they were charging between 1600 and 2000 .
you got to shop around

Claude

Hi Claude
The reason Engineer charged us a low 500 $. fee, because he was
presented with full description of the chassis, ie. type and characteristic
of steel used, welding method and type of electrodes, plus complete
blueprint of chassis, including description of material used in suspension parts.
And since all mechanical componments came from the same donnor car,
it was an easy project for Engineer to approve.
Normal Engineeer approval fee is around 1500 $ because liability insurance
for them to pay is quite high.

or something it would give me an excuse to borrow my dad's seven!

Yeah ! How about forming a club, say "Replica seven freaks" or something milder
to share the experience in building your own Lotus-like rig.
All one needs is a little free space, a welding machine and a few hundred bucks
to start with, plus some spare time on hand.

depending the look of your lotus, my lotus will have a bit of american style, i'm planning to use white wall tire, so imagine, a real kind'a classic, and for the bumper, oufff  we will have to work this, for the québec's builder, for the law......

I agree a Montreal/Quebec club would be fun,

nothing formal.... I know of a Birkin owner who would also be interested as well as my self and my buddy Marc.....

It's just a question of setting a meeting place... Will probably bring a car to the Old car show in Beaconsfield in May....

But it would be nice to meet before...

Cheers,

Fred

if theres a meet, i'll do the best a can to be there, the reason is i just lost my driver licence for dangerous speeding they say, hummmm, not really smart from me. but it was worth it, believe me. adrénalyne rush was nice. but i have too pay now, it's a good thing, more time for me too continu my built. by the way, mister Fred (jawfish). good news, mister Quang Phat of the saaq in intereste to help me. i'm gonna call him.

Okie dokie, let's then start informal "7 replica freaks club", or any other name, as for
meeting place, it can be my place (no parking problem) few blocks from Hipopo tunnel
in Montreal, as for date, it's up to you people to decide, just leave a note to califkid_66

i califkid_66

I did pm a message and no responds, i wonder know if you can help us out in québec, you said your dad did it with arond 500$, well it's ok or sort of, but what i want to know is, for me and the other, where did he found the engeneer (outside saaq) that does dose kind of expertise. it been a wenk a'm calling, e-mail and no body does that, except for building, bridges, road, and enviroment...... where, is your dad found is a engeneer..???????

the saaq does the inspection, but theres no engeneer at this inspection, just an inspector doing mecanical inspection and make sure every thing is safe and asking for the engeneer result, and it is to send to saaq. what is the story????

i'M pretty serious of my built, like other, and i want it on the road, not on race track, help me and the other member of the family of québec, if it true..... please.

for my self, i will do it, probably painful but i will do it. but help and tips is cool,
it make the family bigger and easier.

help us out man, it will be great for us, québec locost family, loll.
