I'm pretty sure you could set the car on fire and it still wouldn't be warm enough for -22C driving!

Warm clothing. Get a set of large tires that can fit over your regular tires and then stick a bunch of timber nails thru them. |

Otherwise I would guess you'll have to work out some other form(s) of defogging...In fact, I'd probably bring a plan 'b' and 'c' along with even if I had defog vents. |

So my son has come up with some Blizzaks that will fit. I plan to remove the front fenders and nose since they would certainly be destroyed if I went off course. Now to find a trailer...we would certainly freeze to death trying to drive to the lake in NH. Not to mention that we have snow up to my waist here in Duxbury and the car would be hard to see as it would be completely below the snowpack. I dont have any overwhelming desire to cake it in salt either. We will see. Paul |

Having done a small bit of ice racing, I do recall that when the studded classes had finished their sessions, the ruts became very deep, and probably not very 7ish friendly. In my day, the more popular choices for disposable cars, were Chevettes and Civics, and I believe, anyone who raced a $ 500 plus car, was referred to as big bucks racing. Also, a close relationship with a wrecker might be paying dividends.  The part that kept me away from this lovely form of motorsport, was watching through the windshield, the wave form under the ice, and bulging it up six to 8 inches, just as the pack braked for the turn, water shooting up through the cracks. I prefer my ice in Scotch these days.
