Welcome Doug, what a nice picture! It's good to have a fan to help with your enthusiasm. :)
Keep reading and looking and asking questions, but try to ask in the correct forums...

-Click <Board index>, it's just above the words "If you..." in the title of this topic.

-Click <The builders log>

-Click <New Topic>

-Give your topic a descriptive name, e.g. <Doug K's Miata +442 build>

-Write an introductory post, telling us a bit about what's going on with your project. When I see it, I'll attempt to attach the last few posts of this topic to that topic, so this 'un can go back to being "If you are new please read this General Info"

And from there, just keep doing like you're doing here.

The OP says it will take years. Based on my experience with other cars, I expect mine to take, once I have 95% of everything together, a month. 3 weeks to build, then a week waiting for the last-minute parts orders to arrive, and installing them. At that point it should be driveable. Of course after a week of driving there may be changes like gearing, spring rates, or who knows what. That's inevitable, but not part of the build.
But without that follow-up dialing it in, the car will never be all you hoped.

A 10-yr old thread!

There's a quote from an old NPR story of a guy who set out to design, build, and fly a plane in 30 days: "I'm 4 days in and already 2 weeks behind schedule."

I can't tell the context of your comments above, but I about shot a drink through my nose when I read the highlighted part above. Unless you're kidding, you have a big life lesson heading your way!
