Sorry, you were indeed talking about bonding of composite laminates, but I took it in the context of bonding aluminum tubes or other aluminum structures. My point was simply that where aluminum tubes are being joined, some fairly simple metal working techniques could be quite effective. Essentially I was jumping off your cautionary note, with a 'conventional' alternative. I should have offered more explanation.

Ok, thanks Warren :wink:

When I extend a steel tube I generally cut a 1" long piece, cut a slice out of it and squeeze it till it fits inside the main tube then slide the extension over the sleeve so I can butt weld it with meat underneath.

I did the same with my Aluminum frame. I should take a picture of it to show you all.
