I've seen several builders lament that, if they had it to do all over again, they'd build their roll cage first. However, building a roll cage, or even a roll tube, without either plans or a chassis, seems to be a losing proposition. And, I don't have a tube bender in my budget, which means that I might have to contact a local person to bend up the hoop / cage (I'm moving to NASCAR team country, so perhaps someone knows how to do that).
What would be really great is if someone-who-does-CAD, who knows SCCA regs (yeah, I know, I know), would have some basic plans for roll cages / roll hoops for the most popular designs (book, McSoreley, etc). Has anyone done that? I realize that no one wants to take liability in case the design doesn't work, but can't we at least have something besides a few pictures?
Thanks!
Tim
