Hi all,

I'm wondering of those of you who are using a Miata motor how far the bottom of the oil pan hangs below the bottom of the frame.

It's looking like the factory motor mounts aren't working out quite right for me but I've seen many other who are using the factory mounts (some with some issue and others seemingly with little to no issue).

Thanks all and have a good weekend!

Matt

Hi Matt,
My miata sump is approx 40mm below the bottom of my chassis rails.
I'm currently running 100mm ride height at the front and 140mm at the rear and haven't scraped the sump yet. I don't think I'd want to go any lower than that though.

Thanks for the feedback. Where you able to use the factory motor mounts?

To be honest I didn't bother trying.
I just used a pair of landrover rubbers and fabricated some mounts to fit.

I have been considering the same sort of arrangement. What alloy aluminum did you use? Is the pan currently in use? Any issues/problems?

I've been wondering if the pan was of a weldable alloy.

Another approach I came across on a Westfield site...
