I'm designing some suspension parts so I need to know the forces in them. Since the forces come from the tire footprint and are related to the weight on the tire, I developed the following chart to give me some idea of the percent weight transfer so I could find the forces. The chart is based on front/rear and side/side weight distribution. It also considers three different center of gravity heights and three different tire traction capacities. These should give a range of values applicable to a Locost. Of course, if you have over 100% weight transfer, your car is in roll bar test mode. Also, lateral and longitudinal forces have to be combined using the tire force circle – I learned that from Jim Hall's writings.
This is a basic chart and doesn't get into chassis rigidity weight distribution and all that. Save that for your son away at engineering college.

LATERAL WEIGHT TRANSFER TRACK = 60"
