I picked up the G20 today. I'm on the ferry back to Rotterdam on the way home now.
Plenty to do to get all of the parts put back together into something that resembles a race car.
Photos to follow.

Hi Rob
I'll be watching this thread. This summer I'm picking up my donor for my 4th seven, a 1979 Plymouth Caravelle with a 3.7L 225cid.

Hey! Finish your third first!

Now I understand why everyone keeps complaining about you finishing a couple cars to everyone else's 1 car.

Hey Perry!

I doubt there will be much to watch in this thread for awhile. With all of my Slant 6 stuff being half a world away I will likely be using a Zetec or Miata drivetrain in the Ginetta. Doing some quick eyeball measuring there is no way to fit a Leaning Tower of Power in the chassis (and under the bonnet[hood]) of the G20.

So,... I think it will be YOUR thread that I will be watching!

And here I was thinking that I was being original by putting a Slant 6 in a Locost...

We finally made it back over to the storage unit the other day and brought the chassis home to start trying to put it back together.

Since this thing won't fit a Slant 6 and isn't a Locost I should start a new thread I suppose. One last photo to close this chapter out...

This is my son Chase home from college for the summer. He will likely be working on it more than I will.

If/when I either pick up "The Mule" chassis or get something else started with the intent of putting a Slant 6 in it I will resurrect this thread.

I will be moving back to the states this summer, so I'm trying to get re-energized on my current projects...

I think I will be able to ship the Ginetta frame and parts (maybe even the trailer) in my household goods. I'm going to get all of the Europe specific parts to take back with me. Mostly Ford Sierra suspension parts.

Since it will not fit a Slant 6 I still have my sights on building the "Leaning Locost".

In fact, I may have found something to give me a great head start! :D

I've adjusted my previous plan just a tad to reflect my current direction...

Just a quick update on where I'm "leaning" for my Locost build.

Chassis: McSorley 442E (442) to fit the roughly 32" long Slant 6 engine

Drivetrain: Chrysler 225 cubic inch Slant 6 engine, A904 automatic transmission and likely a Ford 8.8 (Mazda RX7) rear differential

Suspension: Rear 3 link (Mazda RX7 IRS), front standard Locost using Mustang II spindles with 5X4 1/2 bolt pattern

Tires & wheels: Undecided. I'll have to see about that when I get closer to acutally building something

Body: Likely just a nose cone for a little aesthetics and slight aerodynamic help

Purpose: Track only for autocross and drag racing with just the bare essentials for simplicity and weight savings

Plenty of posts in other threads asking lots of newbie questions to get me to this point. More to follow! :D

The "Head Start" project even comes with an engine/trans very similar to what the Ginettas use, so that is a nice bonus.

Hey Perry,

It looks like your plans changed... I love your current project!

So, does this mean that I may still have a chance at being the first to put a Slant 6 in a Locost...? :D

I did some measuring and Saltracer's 442 will take some big changes to modify it to fit a Slant 6 versus the Duratec he set it up for, so my Leaning Locost idea will likely be the next one... If I ever get that far.

Yeah I needed a change of pace, the Topolino is a slower project than a 7 for me.
I have the Plymouth stripped to bare body and drive train, and it's sitting in the back yard patiently waiting.

I have several of those “waiting patiently” projects.

The oldest and longest waiting is my ‘56 Dodge Truck I bought in ‘94.
I’ve had my ‘72 Dart since ‘91, but I’ve actually done something to that and it runs and drives. :D

Now that my son can weld and I’m actually learning (slowly) Howard’s chassis may actually get finished.

We have made some progress. Not much, but some... I may still be able to shoehorn a Slant 6 into Howard's frame. You can see the Ginetta waiting in the wings too...

I feel like "Slant Seven" would be a proper name for this car. Carry on.
