I want to build a locost chassis but can't get any 16 Gage square tubing to buy. Only 14 gage square tubing is available. Can it be used to build the chassis. I need help please :D

Sure you can use 14 ga. Your frame will be a little heavier, but the frame only accounts for about 10 - 12% of you cars weight. It should also be a little more durable.

When you say this, I'm assuming you mean 'locally'. What part of the world do you call home. The 16 ga. is pretty universally available.

There are plenty of companies that will ship nationally if you can't find it locally. depending on where you are, I'm sure someone here can recommend a reputable supplier.

OK, that explains a lot! If 14 ga. is all you can find, there's really no reason NOT to proceed. The car will be a little bit heavier than usual, but still a fun ride! The Chevy v-6 should have more than enough torque to pull it with gusto! :chev:

Take away the college part and I'd venture a guess that most of us here have "limited resources"
