Since I am converting the rear of my TR4A frame to trailing arms and coil-overs I have the option of altering the wheelbase.
Track will be at or close to 53".
Current wheel base is 88" which is the minimum for this body.
I can go as long as 120" but I am sure that would be excessive.

Fairly light Alfa-Romeo front engine sitting behind the front axle center-line.
Probably using 14" x 6" wheels.

Looking for stable highway travel without losing corner carving ability.
Stay at 88" of add just a bit, and how much?
Expect under 1400 Lb. complete and the body is the least of that.

There is no black or white answer, it's all by degree and preference. The longer the wheelbase the more stable at high speed, while the shorter it is the better for twisty turns.

I've seen the ratio 1.6 to 1 several places. for a 53" track that gives a 84.4" wheel base.
One of the articles listed the ratio for the Miata and Porsche 911 as being within centimeters of each other and both being very close to 1.6.
