Does anyone know off-hand what the weight of the chassis is comparatively between the Book and the Haynes? I'm sure adapting the Book to an IRS will had a few pounds, but is there a huge difference? After watching Carsick use the Voodou basic idea for the rear end of the chassis on a Book frame, he has got me thinking. Does a +221 (Haynes) really make that big a difference from a weight perspective? I actually like the "wide-mouth" nose for the Haynes from Equinox, and the Haynes chassis might give me a little more room to build turbo/supercharger set ups... BUT, if we are talking about another couple hundred pounds to make more room, I'll deal with the tight space!

The haynes forum and wiki say 500-700 kg which is about what everything else seems to come out to. All depends on the running gear. I'm doing a haynes chassis partially do the the dimensions looking better than some of the other designs.

IMO many factors affect the final weight of the car a lot more more than chassis size. Given two cars with identical running gear, the smaller one would probably be less than 50 lbs. lighter than the larger one. However, a larger chassis offers the opportunity to install bigger and heavier running gear, which is what likely ends up happening.
