KB that would be a Mopar Slut6. 225ci of throbbing Mopar muscle. They made a smaller version 170?

Seems like it would not be too hard to port inject the log manifold motors by machining injector bungs into the ports. MegaSquirt!

The Ford 300 motor is a truck motor big brother to the 240.

The Ford 200 is a car motor big brother to the 170. Much more suited to a Locost.

GM made 190, 218, 230, 235, 250, & 292 straight sixes on was OHC (pontiac 250)

These are all iron motors, if you are weight conscious, you might look into the Asian and German aluminum block motors.

Lots of stuff for the Mopar slant six.

I once had alum manifold, Accel dist., 4 bbl, and headers on one and it ran rather well even if'n I do say so meself.

Yes.......the Slant Sickness is another option....... They seem to handle quite a bit of turbo boost in stock form and they also seem to really waken up with that N/A Hyper Pak system in place too. Any thoughts on the Jeep 4.0L motors?

Jeep 4.0L is a good piece, OEM engine controls suck.

Mopar is too quick to pull spark timing and their exhaust manifolds get overheated easily.

Megasquirt!

I was a Jeep dealer tech and never did any internal motor work on a 4.0L and we sold and serviced a lot of them.

AMC 6 awesome engine!
Parts juggling will give you 4.6 liters/~9.5-1 compression, ~$1,000 for an engine kit and a 4.0 block/head from a JY gets a 4.6 liter/8.8-1 comp for a pump gas friendly engine.
http://www.cleggengine.com/stage-ii-4-6l-stroker-kit-8-8-1c-r.html (forged pistons/cast steel crank/long rod)
Toss in a cam and loooooook out, lots of tire smoke!
OEM bellhousing available for a T5 too. ..

As I recall, the AMC 6 is well supported by Clifford Research, or at least it was!

Yes. I still have a four barrel intake for the 3.8 engine. Zero use for it, just could not throw it away. Have no idea if it will fit the 4.0 head.

Bolts up to the 258 (4.2), the holes don't line up well on the 4.0. It can be made to fit with a bit of grinder application.

If you're intent on going with a straight-6, don't overlook the Chevy slant-6. It should take up less height and leans the engine to the right, offsetting driver weight and gets it out of the way of the steering.

you mean Chrysler Slant-6.

all the Chevy inline sixes (since the 1930s) were/are bolt upright. Had a 250 in my '67 Malibu.

How about a Lotus 11 with a Slant Six, built by a bunch of Chrysler engineers?

I am cooking up my plan for a build and am presently in the parts collection stage. I have a '99 BMW 528 with the aluminum block in line 6 with the dual vanos (190hp 210 ft-lb). Originally I was pondering a BEC, but the alure of an easily achieved 350whp with a small turbo and a megasquirt is really attractive. I have the car pretty much stripped and am likely to make the call to the wrecker to take away the hulk this week. I'm holding on to all the suspension, drivetrain and everything I can think might be worth something. I need to weigh the motor, but as I understand, it should weigh in at about 390lbs.
