My guess is that as soon as this or any other engine becomes a serious threat to the Japanes bike market, 3 weeks later the Japanese will have a reverse on their engines. Tom |

Locost=NOT!!! Cool=YES!! Transmissions?? Comes with?? I love the Idea of a V4. An ST1300 would be great but packaging might be an issue. |

As a rider, I really like this bike very innovative. If it at all reliable it should sell. Kind of expensive, but about the same as a decked out Hardley Albleson. Different style, but sooo much more bike. |

Thanks for the update. The two interesting bits I see in the latest info is that there is already 2 different power levels of the naturally aspirated engine, at 165hp and 185hp, and that they're simply stating it as having "electronic fuel injection". This may indicate that they've totally abandoned the "direct injection" they originally were planning to use, or maybe they just aren't advertising that feature the way you would expect them to at this point. I will also be interested to see what, if anything, they're actually planning to release to the general public in regards to prints/dimensions, as opposed to what will likely be available to paying customers and companies developing associated products. |

One article I read said that they had abandoned direct injection right now as this would allow them to get bikes to the market faster and it also jacked up the already pretty high cost. If they can use the money made to increase production quantity and maybe bring down the costs, they can pay for the additional R&D for it and get it in a future year. |

Well it's not like the comparatively tiny cylinders in bike engines need direct injection to utilize surprisingly high compression ratios and extreme rpms on pump gas...So it doesn't surprise me that hasn't worked out on a cost/benefit basis for the first iteration of a truely new from the ground up development. I'm sure they had bigger fish to fry. |
