Whoa - I see the 2.0 Ecoboost puts out 240 hp in stock form! I don't know what the packaging, dimensions, etc. are like, but that's some serious punch! Be interesting to find out what transmissions will bolt up to it!

The transmission that bolts up to the Ecoboost engine is the one in my garage! The NC miata 6 speed bolts right up. It might not hold up long with all the torque the Ecoboost engines make, that is a valid concern of mine too.

Also simple bolt ons and tune really brings the Ecoboost to life. Hows does making 350 lb-ft at the wheels with 263 wheel horsepower to match sound with just bolt-ons sound to you?

I read the article, but I don't know what it means. Depending on the gear the torque at the wheels will be different numbers. It will burn rubber in three gears, it's a heavier car than you're building with more weight over the driving wheels. So it's a good plan to start NA, I think.

I found an engine!
I got a great deal ona F20c1 Engine with rod knock. I'm going to rebuild it and maybe even do a f24 build. I also bought some OBX ITB's for it too. A NA ITB high revving Honda power locost is in my future! :D

The sad state the engine is in right now.

Anyone have experance with the K24 crank in a f20 engine?

Congrats, no experience with the k24 crank but I did swap out the f22 crank for and f20 crank as well as pistons and rods.

A few comments:
1. You have to decide whether you're going with an aftermarket ECU and stick with the choice. Some of the combinations above use one and others don't, then use the total dollar amount to prove a point. Apples to oranges.
2. Keep in mind that hardly anyone has tuned a direct-port injection engine - which I think the Ecoboost is. This could be a really big problem.
3. I built a fire-breathing K24 turbo and for the money, could have easily put in an LS-based solution.
4. Don't underestimate old engines; the tires don't care what's turning them and an even slightly warmed-over 302 would provide all the power you need. Four cylinder engines have to spin faster to make the same power, which makes them less reliable. Badmouth the 302 all you want but after a hard weekend at a trackday event, which engine is more likely still loafing along and hardly trying?
