I am working on the frame, and I think I am at the point in need to figure out what width rear end I'll use. I am building a 442 frame, If I plan on using 13x5 rims with no offset what rear end width should I shoot for? How much space should I leave between the frame and tires.?

On a 442 you'll need a minimum of 47 inches between the tires to clear the trailing links. Make it 47-1/2 to be safe. Add your tire width to that to get your minimum rear track.

Accounting for movement at the top of the tire during suspension articulation, with a 46 inch chassis I'd probably shoot for at least 48 or 49 inches between the inside edge of the tires.

As mentioned you need to have clearance from the tire too, not just the wheel. 1" minimum clearance in worse case suspension location would be my recommendation. Don't forget to include the fender thickness and bolts and washer buildup too. That would pro'ly add another 3/8 " - 1/2" or more per side required clearance. This comes into effect only if the tire tread is nearly as wide as the widest bulge of the sidewall. The latter is also variable based on the width of the wheel.

Some of us were surprised when we put the brake caliper on later in the assembly process. So watch that you have clearance for that and the parking brake cables too.

So much to consider!
