Free donor w nice drivetrain - 1977 TR7 4 cyl 5 speed -

Complete car only, must come n grab by Sat am - VERY nice couple finding an uncomfortable pinch in the Bay Area - car is in Alameda - kinda rolls, not sure of the bolt circle

76,000 miles on really nice condition drivetrain - however - it's been sitting for like 10 yrs - they stopped driving it when they hd kids n needed more seats, just love their British cars & have to get rid of, this is the last one. Email me with your phone # & I'll send you their # & text you a couple of pictures. No time to pul any parts and organize shipping, locals only. Car is a rusty mess from sitting but otherwise pretty clean. Not a vert but has a rotted thru cloth sunroof. -

That could make a nice donor for someone. It has a live rear axle with 4-link and a very simple 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that is not ECU controlled. I hope it finds a happy home.

Cheers,

If someone gets this as a donor, I'm interested in any unused interior bits for my 79 restoration project. :)

Some people never have anything except ideas. Go do it.
Emissions & fuel economy haven't exactly been areas of strength for past rotary power plants, but absolutely no one with a soul has ever cared.

if someone does grab it, keep in mind the louvers on the bonnet (hood) area easily cut out and riveted to a hood on a seven. Much cheaper than buying louver panels.

Isn't there "something" about the cylinder head on a TR7? I'm not sure I remember it correctly, but I think the top of the block is angled. If you mill the head much at all, then the holes for the studs/bolts don't line up right... I think?

Still sounds like a good donor car or a good one to restore. Just that whoever gets it might want to be aware. Do a little research, DO NOT take my word for it.

When the new owner decides to put a V8 in it I'm interested in the rear axle assembly.
Seems the simplest way to do a Spitfire chassis Locost build and keep matching wheels.
