I have a book frame and want to use the MK-8, 8.8 I have. I have read about people using them on 442 frames with stock lengths. The 1/2 shafts I have are 25" long overall and have 28 splines. My other choice is major off set wheels. I'm sure this will be costly. I hope that I put this in the right area and this question has not been answered allready. Any help is appreciated.

I am sorry I don't know what other half shafts will work with the MK8 diff, but I plan on using the same diff in a gibbs chassis. Do you know what the wms to wms dimension is? What offset would you have to run to use the stock diff? What frame are you building?

factory five cobras use ford 8.8 irs and have an option for what is called PIN drive that comes with shorter half shafts. pin drive rear is narrower to allow for the adapter to accept the knock off wheels. I think that this is narrower by 2.5" per side. so this might be a source.

Back to you there "FieroReinke" and "Hpbugeye" good luck on your builds. :D
I don't have my notes with me but I think the wheel to wheel surface was either 65" or 65-1/2". I suppose about a 10" offset wheel would work.
Does anybody know of wheels that have that bolt pattern with that kind of offset or close to it?? I know A thousand $ will get you what you want.
(sorry I have not measured them yet but have read they are not real a real poplar pattern).
I am using the "Champion" book frame. At that point the frame is 42" wide, out side, out side.
Thanks for the info on the Cobra axles too. 2-1/2" shorter would be nice. I wonder the cost?
I will need more help and advise I'm sure before we get this on WHEELS.
