Tomorrow, I will be picking up my 2nd MGB-GT, a 1973 version. I got for parts on my 1st GT. I will be parting out the rest.

I know the wiper system is a common part used on the Locosts. I used one on my Locost that interfaced directly with my RX7 controls. Hempy did the same with Miata controls IIRC. The Engine and trans are there (I expect the engine to be frozen?) although the intake manifold and carbs are not there. I'm not really sure what else is missing.

If anyone wants anything specific, ask. This will be a quick part out and Will be going to the scrap yard when done. Maybe in 1 month?

I plan on taking most all lighting bits and the complete dash assy, glass, doors, front fenders, bumpers and seats along with all bright body trim,. Most other parts will be available. If you catch me at a weak moment, you might even be able to talk me out of some of the parts I plan to keep

Pickup in west suburbs of Chicago or ask about shipping. Extra credit for those who want to disassemble the parts you need.

I could be a buyer for a windshield wiper setup, Chuck. The GTs are old enough to have the 2-wiper setup versus the 3-blade version. When you get a chance, please look over the ones you want to sell and let me know what kind of shape they're in.

I can't remember where the wiper switch was in the old time MGBs. If it's not on the stalk, that might be useful too. Perhaps even the windshield washer stuff would work as well, if present.

Cheers,

EDIT: The steering column switches back then were pretty simple. It could be usable for me on a Locost, especially if it has the washer switch too.

2 or 3 wipers make no difference. You can use or not use the 3rd wiper box. Certainly the tubes between the wiper boxes, and for that matter, the motor and 1st box can easily be made to suit using common brake tubing.

I will let you know about the washer....... not sure if I have a spare.

I should have the wiper switch available from the '73 available......

Give me some time to sort the 2 cars all out. Those parts will be ear marked for you. You can decide when I get them out.
