I think time has come to admit defeat on the Coveland frame. I just can't bear to rework things anymore. I do want to keep my engine and transmission as spares for the autox XP miata. Plus I am selling my house and wont have the space to store the project for some time. I have the MSO for the frame from Coveland and a crap ton of receipts. PRICE $2500

Build log:
viewtopic.php?t=2589
Seems my host has decided to remove my site for some reason, I'll get to work on restoring that.

Details on the Coveland frame:
Rear has been reworked for the miata subframe. The rear suspension as it was delivered was unusable.
Steel floor pans, and a few transmission tunnel side panels welded in
Front suspension brackets were also unusable (pointed in the wrong directions). and have been cut off.
Pedals hung and a support for the steering column added
Roll bar, rear supports and door bars added.

List of parts that are included. This is from memory. I will hopefully be inventorying and taking pictures this weekend. The donor was a 99 miata.
Miata steering rack
Open diff
Miata rear control arms with poly bushings installed
miata steering column
All lighting bits
Nose cone
Scuttle, cut for the miata guages. Gauges included.
Kinetic rear fenders and front suspension kit parts
8 gallon plastic fuel tank
99 front spindles as well as a set of 94-97 to fit the Moog balljoints
Civic radiator
Cut down drive shaft
QA1 shocks in the rear

Locating in Austin, Texas. I have a trailer and might be convinced to deliver. If it sells before I sell my house, it would probably be best that you come pick it up. That way you can just point to any of the parts scattered about my garage you want.

You mentioned in a recent reply to me that you had to "undo" the front suspension. Would it be that difficult for a novice in suspesnion design to complete? I remember you saying that yuo had had a bad experience with Coveland, but it sure looks like a fantastic build in process. Hal Wenk

Nick,
When I recently mentioned that I was looking for a Coveland Miata frame for a build, you cautioned me to stay away as far as I could go from their frame. I've read your complete build log and am curious if you still feel the same now that you have decided to sell your build?

Hal, sent you a PM. I was still a bit out of it from the race this weekend. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Nope. In usual fashion, work decided to intervene and had to work.

Took a few with the new camera while I stopped by the house tonight. Ignore the fact there is a ton of stuff everywhere.

congrats

I hope your next Locost experience is a better one. I've had a similar experience in a homebuilt airplane kit...by the time I was halfway through I wished I'd done a scratch-built instead of a kit-built.

Seems I have as much luck in selling the kit as I had building....

It's still available! :BH:
