I have a friend who is looking for a Locost project. He has been to my shop and after looking at what we're building, his interest is now peaked. Anyone in the northeast US have a project that they have lost interest in and its now just sitting and taking up space in their garage. Let me know. Any stage of completion will be considered.

PM me with details and/or pix.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,
I'm sure you remember me in Bear, DE. I still have that poorly made chassis with a good 240sx rear, steering and wheels. The steel alone must be worth something. If your friend is interested, he can have everything for $200.

PS Did your brother ever finish that 280i with the 5.0 motor?

I was getting prepared to post my project when I saw this - project is in central MA - here's some info on my project (viewtopic.php?f=35&t=2785). I will be posting it soon but if your friend hasn't found one, here's what I have:

-book build frame w/front suspension arms
-bmw m42 drivetrain (engine has been machined, head work done, just needs balancing and assembly - comes with new upper/lower gasket kits, matching tranny and driveshaft)
-bmw M3 rear diff - larger pumpkin and 4.10 ratio lsd
-bmw e30 rear half shafts
-bmw e30 front/rear uprights/struts/brake calipers
-bmw e30 steering column
-ford escort (european) rack
-e30 wheels - bbs basketweaves
-nose cone and scuttle
-Italian 350mm steering wheel (momo style)
-brake components (booster and master cyclinder)
-radiator
-tons of other miscellaneous stuff

The kit was rolling when I purchased it, and was disassembled when shipped. I sold the engine and tranny, and began work on the e30 drivetrain approach, which would require modifying the chassis and redesigning the front/rear suspsension a bit to make it work.

Let me know if you think he'd be interested. I have more invested in the engine work and parts I've accumulated than the chassis so I need to go through my info.
