After two years of work, I've decided to move onto a different project with this one just a bit shy of the finish line. Here's your chance to build a Locost with a lot less time and effort required than if you'd started from scratch. Even better, this one already has a title and can be licensed immediately.

Chassis
-Custom (not to a standard Locost plan) with a front mid-engine setup.
-Chassis is steel throughout, mostly TIG welded.
-All suspension arms are custom TIG welded with rod ends at all pivot points.
-Independent rear end from a Datsun 510.
-Front end modelled on Triumph Spitfire with Spitfire uprights.
-Koni adjustable racing shocks with coil-over kits and HyperCoil springs at all four corners.
-Wilwood brakes all around with dual master cylinders and adjustable brake bias.
- 17" Konig wheels and tires

Engine
-The engine is a strong Mazda 12A with 45 DCOE Weber carb and a performance intake. I haven't dynoed it but am told it should be good for 150-160 hp.
- Custom header and exhaust
- 5-speed Mazda gearbox

Other
- Autometer ProComp gauges throughout
- Fuel cell
- Braided brake lines
- Kirkey driver's seat
- Dual remote master cylinders
- Carbon fiber dashboard
- Already has a Missouri VIN number and Ohio title

What's it need?
If you look closely at the photos you'll see that not all of the wiring is connected. However, it all HAS BEEN connected and everything was working before I disassembed the entire car to paint the frame. All the wires are marked, most are currently connected, but there may be a little work left there. It needs a battery.

I'm sure there are a few small items here or there I'm not thinking of but the bulk of the work required to finish this car is the bodywork which, in the grand scheme of things, is the easiest part of the whole deal.

Sounds like a very good price for the car. It will sell quickly, you must have more than that into it, surely the wheels, brakes and engine alone put you around $3K.

I do have more than this into it, but I've decided to move on. Rather than put a big price on it and wait forever, I figured it made more sense to ask a reasonable price and get on to the new project. Having said that, there's not a lot of haggle room here, as you might imagine.

BEAUTIFUL work! And a ROTARY!

I wish that I were in a position to buy it. I'd be tempted to do the bodywork out of Plexiglass.

That is a good deal and somebody will be smiling :P , but why stop now? I know you say you have another project, but come this far and stop. Good luck on the new one, what is it?

At heart, I'm a racer. I won two NASA National Championships in a Porsche 944 S2 I sold a couple years ago. As much as I really love the idea of this Locost, what I REALLY want is another race car, which this isn't quite. Soooo...current plans are to try to put Boxster S running gear (engine, tranny, suspension, brakes) under a 914 and run it in NASA's German Touring Series.

It sure looks like a good deal to me. The engine, wheels/tires and shocks just about add up to the asking price. The rest is a bonus. Good luck in finding the right buyer who appreciates the work you have done. :cheers:

If only you were a little closer and I had just a few extra $'s squirreled away in my piggy bank. A rotary seems like a match made in heaven for a se7enesque car. I don't like the idea of driving home to CA from Ohio with no bodywork. That seems like it might even be extreme for Jack. Good luck with selling it.

Well! the car started, everything seems to run good! we havent got to move the car since im waiting for my brake oil, but it is a little beast!! First dyno run yesterday on the Deman and today, the startup of my fathers car! my years might need a rest now.. :cheers:
