Hey guys, one of my coworkers wants to sell his Spitfire project.

I think that it's a 71, not sure. What I do know is it has a rebuilt, never run in engine that I built for him 10 years ago when he took it off the road to do a resto-mod. It's been sitting on the stand since I put it back together

Seats are early Miata

Body tub was really solid when I saw it last and it's been in a corner of his Dad's garage for ages.

If anyone is interested I can get details, pics, and an asking price... pretty sure he'll sell it cheap
No space in the garage, or I wouldn't even mention it, I'd just slap it back together and put it on ebay

Asking price would be good to know. Pics would be even better! I'm assuming that it's located in your neck of the woods!

@TooBusy didn't you just finish one of your projects? You must be itching to buy it.

I'll ask Danny for pics and price.

Yeah, I just finished the R1 project. It's on here and ebay to convert sweat back into cash.
Im tempted to grab the spit. I could turn it into a running driving "barn find" in about 3 work days

I'm tempted too, if the price was low enough for me to 1) buy it, 2) ship it to Illinois, 3) put in a week's worth of work, then 4)pay the ebay and paypal overhead, and still make money. Then I'm sure that Toobusy will by it and do the same himself, without the need to ship it.

My first Brit car was a '63 Spit!

Good luck. It is calling to you.

Chuck, I like the way you think. I just don't have garage space to do it right now. I've got the Mini blown into 10,000 pieces in the garage. The Zetec project has one bay and two of my cabinets full of bits.

I keep seeing Spits going for 3500 and up that need a lot of work.

Hope to get pics from Danny later this week.
The car is mostly blown apart like so many stalled resto mod projects.

He said he'd like to get a grand, but has wiggle room
