My budget and storage space are glad you are on the other end of the country.
A "C" type body build has long been on my "Bucket list", looks like most of it is there?
I did not see it, but by chance would there be a low ratio Jag diff with trac-lock in that pile?

Richard, There is a jag diff there. Not sure if it low ratio or not. Probably from the XJ6.

Earlier XJ6's had good ratios, the 80's cars were way too high.
Should be a tag on it.

Others here would probably like to know the ratio as well.
Trac-Loc?

You mentioned XKE, do you have a set of XKE axles and lower arms?
I might bust my budget for those as E rears are much narrower than XJ6.
Better to buy than to modify. :)

EDIT: Looking at your pics, are you sure it's a "C" body, not "D"?
Either is drool worthy.
C's and D's were pretty narrow track so an E rear would be needed unles the body was widened.
And last, which trans is that behind the Buick V6, I need one for a build I have been slowly gathering parts for.

Ok, I will get my in-law to check all the parts out and let you know. The front clams are for a D-type, not a C. Thanks, Dave

Richard,

The rear suspension from center of Diff pinion to outer wheel surface on one side is 31" and7/8.
Attached are more photos with diff number. The ratio appears to be a 4.30 (10 x 43) . I forgot the 3 Superchargers on my first post. They all appear to turn easily.

Looks like you have an XJ6 type rear, too bad as they are very common and cheap in self-pull yards now.
Mostly 2.88 :ack:
Are you sure about the gear ratio?
Should be on a metal tag on the rear cover, ratios are not on the iron diff carrier.
Would be an unusual one and very good for my El Camino project if we are certain that it is 4.30
If "Posi" as well I need it despite the cost of shipping.
I already have a set of 4.27 (47/11) loose gears but not as a "Posi" set-up.
Surprised they would also make 4.30 as that is so close to 4.27
I also do have a 3.54 "Posi" setup but it's still a little tall with my Muncie/Gear-Vendor OD, and in a very early E type carrier.
Was going to combine parts to get what I really need, someday.

Here is a gear ratio chart I found on-line.
I think it's just U.S. ratios and possibly incomplete.
Neither 4.27 or 4.30 appear on it.

Model Year Gear ratio Width
E Type 61-75 3.07,3.31,3.54 * 52"
Mk 10 61-75 3.54,3.77 * 60.5"
S Type 63-68 3.54,3.77 * 55"
420 66-68 3.54 55"
420G 66-70 3.54,3.77 * 60.5"
XJ6 4.2l 68-85 3.31,3.54,3.77 61"
XJ6 2.8 68-85 4.09,4.55 61"
XJ12 72-85 3.31 * 61"
XJ6/12 S3 79-92 2.88,3.07 61"
XJS 75-96 2.88,3.07,3.54 * 61"

* = Factory Posi

About those superchargers, is the one on the far left a top draft "Wet" type, or is that just some other loose part laying on top of it?
And just how complete is the D body?
Looks like nose, tail, and head-rest?
Body sides around anywhere?
Any idea who made it?
And or course, and idea what track it is made to fit?
Looks like my side business may be picking up a bit, so possible "Extra" funds to spend.

Some more checking on diff and blower info to come. The D clip and rear were hand made by the engineer/builder from UK before he passed away. I did not see a headrest or sides. I will get width measurements for you slaso.

Richard,
We counted teeth again. 13 on pinion and 43 on ring. Appears to be a 3.31 with positraction.
The blowers are for 90s Buicks, so only have intake available at throttle body. The item you saw was a gasket for lower section to intake manifold.
The D-type front clip measures approx 49 inches wide to the outside flared wheel wells.
Thanks.

3.31 is a very good general purpose ratio for a lot of builds but not mine.
Power-Lock in the later style case is desireable, but I would still have to get my 4.27 gears swapped over.

49" body seems a bit narrow for the 61" XJ6 rear suspension. :BH:

Did you find out what the Buick V6 transmission is?
I'm really hopeing for another Ex-Camaro V8 WCT5.
Amazing how quickly they went from plentiful to hard to find.

Richard,

Finally got the rest of the info. We have 1 Chevy or Olds V6, 231 ci. 1 Front wheel drive 3.3 L; 1 Ford V6, probably a Ranger. 1 GM 2.8 V6 with a T5 5 speed trans. 1 complete XJ6 engine with trans. XJ engine block and head, plus internals. Someone that has contacts locally should really come and see everything and plan on a trailer load if they want anything. Thanks for looking.
