FYI, the name Bobcat has been used before for cars. Mercury had a badge engineered version of the Ford Pinto called Bobcat back in the day. I do not know if Ford still owns the rights to the name or not.

"Supercat" sounds pretentious to me.

How about Civet (if you can past their $hitty reference to coffee)?

I agree that Supercat sounds pretentious. Bobcat is out. I think Civet and Serval have the same issue in that a lot of people won't know what it is.

Fortunately my wife and daughters are able to LEAP into the car. :)

CHESNUT ROADSTER? Simple and no conflict. I wish that I had a cooler sounding last name!

I too was thinking along the Lines of the Chestnut Roadster. Instead of the usual tough, feline, exotic or sexy name, chose something personally meaningful to you. After perusing many an Italian noun, I named my venture after the local twisty road that all the area enthusiasts cut their teeth on. Thus, Grizzly Peak Motors was born.

Not trying to Self promote, just suggesting a different approach.

My current Dio Tipo build has no doors, and no possibility of adding them.
If I ever find Crumpet that is sporting enough to clamber aboard without complaint my status as a single guy could be in jeopardy!
Of course at this point my age probably protects me.

In latin, Acinonyx.
Probably about as well known as Civet Cat.
Seems they stopped teaching latin in school a long time ago.

Thank you for your thoughts Kreb. I like the name Grizzly Peak Motors and your logo.

Richard, I think that I may have told you this before. Bill Ames was a partner in the creation of the Ambrose. When I moved back to my home town of Elizabethtown, NY in 1987 he was living there. (Its a town of only about 1200) Bill sold the molds to Bill Bonadio. He changed the name to the Dio Tipo61. I met Bill at some racing events in the early 2000's. We had fun competing and going out to Italian restaurants. :)

As of tonight I'm thinking of going with: CHESNUT SPYDER for the name. I already have http://www.chesnutmotorsports for the domain name. I'll see how I feel in the morning.

I'm hoping to pick up the first 2 complete bodies next Friday. Fingers crossed.

It's been my experience that all kinds of women want a ride in a cool car. Doors or no doors. :)

How about Chestnut Roaster? Not exactly your name and not the classic description of the car, but a fun play on words. No one can deny it will be hot enough to roast anything on the road.

Unfortunately KIA Trademarked Stinger.

I'm not 100% in on any name yet. CHESNUT SPYDER doesn't thrill me.

I appreciate all of the suggestions!

I've decided on a name. It's very simple. CHESNUT 214R My son's racing number has always been 21. Mine has always been 14. R for roadster.

l'm still here. :) It's been a hard long winter. My wife and I have been taking care of our respective Mothers. And, I'm struggling with health issues. I'm just now getting back to my build. I'm rethinking offering kits. The body is easy as a fiberglass company has my molds and makes them. I don't think that I'm up to building more frames.

I have a development frame that along with my jigs will allow me to accurately build more frames if decide to build more. I have 2 completed frames and sets of aluminum skins. I've just finished the second frame and painted it. I'm going to use it to build the car for me. I'm starting that this weekend. The second body and frame I'm keeping for my son. I do have a friend that wants a body and frame and another person that has contacted me and wants one. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about these.

I'm located in Elizabethtown, NY. It's in the Adirondack mountains of upstate NY.
