I posted this in my build log, asking for advice on value, etc. Figure I may as well just post it here too.

So.......been a while......

Unfortunately, although I got off to a good start with this project, life had other plans. Work, divorce, health issues, multiple surgeries, etc., took me in a different direction. I haven't been able to work on it in a long time. Now as much as I hate to admit defeat, I feel like it might be best to call it quits, and see if there's a good home for this to go to where it might get finished and enjoyed.

Since nothing about this build is "by the book", I'm not sure if anyone would like it, and I have no clue off hand what it all might be worth. So I figured I'd post a few pics and some details on here and see if you guys could give me a little guidance.

It's been so long since I started this thing, that I've honestly forgotten a lot of the details of what I did. Here's what I know.....

It's a rolling frame, with a 302 Windsor V8, T5 World Class 5 speed transmission, FX Stage 3 clutch. Rear end from 95 Mustang GT (same donor for engine and trans). I did a lot to the engine converting it from EFI to carb (I think there are more details in some previous posts.) Has a Road Demon 4 barrel carb, I think 650cfm. Aluminum heads and PFS Typhoon intake manifold. Everything is new (well, unused - since i bought it all about 6 years ago).

Frame is 1.25" square tube.
Sparco racing seats and 4 point Sparco harnesses.
Sparco steering wheel
Wilwood pedal assembly including clutch master cylinder and dual brake master cylinders.
2 Borla S-type 5" round stainless mufflers (was going to do straight pipes on both sides.
14 circuit Kwikwire harness.
Dual front vent 260 cfm heater.
Front wheels: Drag DR-31 17x8 rims with General G-Max AS-03 225/45R17 tires.
Rear wheels: Drag DR-31 18x9.5 rims with General G-Max AS-03 245/45R18 tires.

That's all I can think of right now, but more may come to me later.

Asking price and location would help the sale.

Sorry, location is Denver, Colorado. As stated in the post, I have no clue what this is all worth, so I haven't put a price on it.

I hope this doesn't sound harsh, but grab every receipt you have and add them up.

divide by 3 write that down
divide by 4 and write that down

Selling price is somewhere between those 2 numbers

otherwise part it out and cut of the frame when you're done selling parts.

Possibly. But that reminds me of something years ago when the engine blew in my car. I was told it was then only worth $800. Easily sold it two days later for $3500, and the buyer put a new engine in it.

In this case, I've already got two offers for double the numbers you're suggesting. I guess we just never know how these things will turn out.

When I was looking at selling my Locost instead of shipping it from Mass to Wisconsin, I had offers for $5,000- $7,000. But no one had the cash w/o selling another car or could pick up in the time I needed. The total receipts for my car are about $11,000.

I could recoup most of that cost if I sold the parts separately and scrapped the frame.

I do think the price is driven with where in the country you live.

Having a V8 opens up a whole 'nother set of potential buyers - the hot rod inclined. A friend was selling his Locost. A potential buyer came by to take a look, noticed an earlier build sporting a SBC and offered him double the asking price of the first one for the second. He hadn't intended to sell the V8 build, but the guy was waving so much money at him, he said what the heck.....

I tried sending the seller an email but didn’t get a reply. Anyone know if this project has been sold?
