Trying to get my Kent 1600 up and running before deciding what to put it in, or sell it.
Seems I do not have the starter, sold to me as a runner.
Now if I could just also find a T9 for it!
Correct starter will be three mounting bolts and works with a 110 tooth flywheel.

Is it a pull in or push out when engaging type starter? If it is the push put type a standard Pinto starter should work. When I changed from my 1300 cc Xflow that had a trans with an integral bellhousing to a 1600cc Xflow with a separate bellhousing the old pull in starter would not work. Had to be a push out type. If it requires a pull in type you are probably out of luck. You'll have to go to the UK to get one. Russ

Bevel on the ring gear is clutch side, so I would say pull type.

Welllll....
I bought a push type gear reduction starter from Dave Bean Engineering, $200. :(
Thinking I should flip the ring gear, or get a new one if I decide to put the engine into something I am keeping.
For now I just want to be able to do a compression test and get it running.

Soooo, it seems a 2.3 T5 bell and trans should not be that hard to adapt.
Of course that will be a different starter. :BH:
