It would have been good either way--either staying amongst us Locosters, or pulling another newbie into the fold.

Bruce, one big advantage of this pushrod suspension vs. what I've been noodling around with is, this one works and we know it. So yes, I'm confident I'll be greatly inspired. An homage, that's the ticket, I'll call it an homage.

Wow Jack, that should be a blast to drive! Do you have any wide open space that you can take it to drive flat out? Oh wait, your shop is at an airport. You can go buzz those planes!

Have fun with it!

Glad to see that it made it to Oregon without damage. Winston, sorry. I didn't know you needed bodywork. FWIW, I get around - a lot.

Also, Bonneville was fun this year. The Lakester fried something in the ECU and killed the ignition every time the turbo spooled up. So I ended up crewing for my girlfriend who drove a 1948 Triumph with a supercharger on it to a new world record of 86mph, smashing the old record of 66mph.

Here's the Turbo-busa powered lakester. We'll sort it out and expect to go 235mph on a 179mph record next year.

Now, I understand. Somehow selling that nice Seven for a life in Miata's didn't completely add up for me!

Looks like life didn't get so boring after all! Best of Luck...

The next Miata is a D-Prepared car similar to the old Stan Whitney monster. Except that mine will run 15x10 wheels, have more motor, be lighter (until I add the ballast), and has a trick suspension.

Don't get your hopes up, the car sold long ago and has gone to at least two other owners since then.

Since my original host bit the dirt, then Photobucket went sour, I rehosted all the photos on Smugmug.

Are you the second owner? I remember Gene Young was the builder.

I was the second. Jack McCornack was the third.
Many of the photos of it apart are in Gene's garage. I had some of his unfinished XR4ti also. Here's one of it in it's finished state.

I remember I bought it from a dentist that from what I understand did not use it much before selling it. I had alot of FTD's in that car....

So is it for sale again or was the post just randomly resurrected?
