You can come visit them if you like Richatd. Thanks for the heads up cs3tcr. For that price, I don't think you'd even be able to buy the hardware.

All I want of it are the wheels, when the new buyer decides to replace them with the "Correct" type as used in the movie.

It's not a locost but it's interesting.

For sell is a 1968 Volvo 1800 Custom Project car. The car is completely stripped and is at 90% bare metal. Lots of custom modifications, stretched 21/2" at the front, Tilt front end, VW head lights, new frame and front suspension, shaved, wheel arches moved, Fins cut down. I have lots of parts and most of the interior but not the seats. Still needs lots of work does not include motor in photos or the rotisserie. Car is currently on a trailer. No paperwork I have the plates that came off if it and the vin. Its been about 15 years since it was registered in CA.

Saw this on my local Craigslist today. Thinking about grabbing it and building around a Miata drivetrain.

It's an actual model T frame with a Ford banjo rear end, beam axle, and spring. It's got a nice glass body and turtle back

Here's a "Super Saber" 7 in Washington State. The fellow owns a business called "TechnoVersions LLC" and, among other things, he makes a device called "TachMatch" to mate any tach to any ignition (including 4 cylinders viewed as 8, 6 as 8, 8 as 4, etc., with a true "square wave" signal, and no tachometer disassembly required - I just ordered one.)

The car has a 215 cu. in. V-8...

Well, whadayaknow! looky looky what we have here! That didn't take long. Tundra7 saw it on cars.com where it is listed for $17k. That site sent me here for a no reserve starting price of $11.5K. That's a big range.

I think I know that car.

BTW, Not my sale. (anymore)

I am in no way endorsing this sale. I just thought it was an interesting plot twist.

Is he (she) just flipping it, Chuck? Or, do you think they just didn't like the driving style of the Locost?

Cheers,

A bit smallish for a hearse. Mind you, the procession would be short and sweet.

Lonnie, I'm not sure why he's (re-)selling. He has had a BEC Locost previously so I think he knew.

Martin, I was going to ask you how you knew his profession... then I saw the tombstones.

My old Locost sold on eBay last night. It went to the 1 and only bidder at $11.5K. Now to see if it shows up again, as often some specialty car buyers never consummate the deal. At $11.5, I think that is a great price for a common Locost with no real provenance. Especially for an end-of-season sale. It is a little bit higher than I got. Good for him. And good for us builders.

The Skip Barber auction wrapped up today.
I ended up with a Hewland sequential gearbox and a slightly wrecked Formula Skippy from the boneyard.
The car has complete chassis, steering, 4 coilovers, Dodge 2.0 4 banger in unknown codition, radiators, hydraulics, gauges, fiberglass race seat, 4 good wheels, and some wiring.

There is no bodywork, but there's a good possibility of buying a body from the guy who bough 50 of them for $210.

Trip up to Braselton one day next week to collect my goodies. Once I see what is there and what isn't I can draft a plan for bringing it back to life.

Skip Barber Formula 2000. They created a class and used the cars in school and staged several races with them.

A wrecked one of these
