I'm in the Portland area and unfortunately can't be there this Saturday... Three of my boys are playing in a soccer tournament in Las Vegas, so I'll be running all about there trying to see as much of their games as I can manage.

I cannot make it this Saturday but am very interested in joining this group. I am going to take a welding class in February to freshen up my skills and then start construction after that. This is my very first car project and I know I would benefit greatly from being part of the group.

Thanks for the invitation.

Mike

Ok, so I think we have enough interested people to have a get together this Saturday. But I'm also thinking we have enough people in the area that it would be easy to have open invite gatherings on a regular (monthlyish to ever few months) basis. Not necessarily just for meals either. So don't worry if you can't make it to this one. Especially for the further away folks if you decide you'd rather wait until warmer weather and longer days to make the drive.

I didn't really think about it before my last post, but does anybody have any issue with generally crowded/busy mall parking lots for any reason regarding whatever vehicle they will be driving?...Beyond the usual frustrations and annoyances, I suppose. While it may not be an ideal parking lot situation, I figured that the Southcenter Mall in Tukwila right at the southeast corner of the southern I5/I405 junction would also be an easy landmark for people less familiar with a lot of the Seattle area to find as well. If there's no obejections or better ideas from people more familiar with eateries in the area, this will tenatively be the plan...

Date:Saturday Jan 19th
Time: TBD - Open to suggestions/debate (Lunch, Linner, Dinner)
Location: BJ's Restaurant at the Southcenter Mall in Tukwila, WA

Are there any comments, concerns, or criticisms with this plan so far?

Walking and bicycling are both allowed.

You just did. Pretty rigorous initiation, huh? Of course, if you didn't read the fine print, you may not be aware that you can not unjoin the group...Ever.

Yo, Driven-
Can I get an "excused absence" from this meeting? According to Google maps, it's 2,323 miles from my house to the Southcenter Mall in Tukwila, and, well... Maybe if you have one closer... Keep me posted!

I think this is a great idea, and I hope you get a good turnout. Maybe I'll try for a Florida group. Hmmmm... Wonder what kind of obnoxious acronym we can come up with?

Justin, Sounds good, I'll be there.
Is this the place: http://www.bjsbrewhouse.com/locations/wa/southcenter
And the time?

John, I'd love to see Wycked 7. Hope the weather holds and you can make it.

JD, just get your axle fixed and come on over.

Late lunch sounds best if all are agreeable. That keeps me in daylight. I understand if another time is better for the group. See you there!

I agree, something around 1pm would be best...if it's dry and I'm free, I'll bring the locost!

Google maps makes it look easy-peasy to get to. I'm sure with all that room I can park that big ass truck.

I'll be there. One sounds good but I can be there just about anytime.

Ok then...

Date:Saturday Jan 19th
Time: 1:00pm
Location: BJ's Restaurant - 1159 Southcenter Mall, Tukwila, WA 98188

The Being close to the main mall entrance, the parking lot out front BJ's is generally pretty packed. However the adjacent garage generally has parking at least on the upper levels. When the mall seems busy, we've often just gone straight to the garage roof and found open spaces.

Ok, but don't think that will give you an excuse to not turn in your homework on time...For any future absences, a doctors note may be required.
