As stated on end of 2014 Midwest posts the place we are looking for the 2015 Gathering is in the vicinity of Galena, IL. area. We've already discovered that it has great roads, as well as a variety of Hotels/ motels. Some do have parking problems. We're heading there this July 4th to see if specific roads were completed, what best hotel deals we can find and meet w/ a person that knows of any 2015 events already planned. We'll keep you posted about dates and other such information.

We made it to Galena for the 4th. Had a great time. Little damage to campgrounds or surrounding areas with the storms that had passed through. If you camp don't forget the shower shoes. Now we'll just work on preliminary itinerary and other items such as T-Shirt and awards. : |

I need my "Midwest Gathering" fix. Any more info about this great get together? I am anxiously awaiting this year's meet. Further, I'm looking forward to the shortest drive getting to and from at about 2-1/2 hrs. I won't know what to do with all that "extra" time......

Yep. Only about a 2 hour drive for me so there's no excuses this year! Even if I do have to show up in a beater Subaru wagon.

It's about 4.5 hours for me. I just hope a weird problem doesn't crop up with the car. I'm really looking forward to this.

Russ, how is the swap going? Is there a build log?

Bill

No blog Bill. I have enough trouble with "comfusers" to do that. It is going to be a 1600cc xfow with a hot street cam, HP pistons and a header. You better soup up that old Spitfire motor to keep up with me!!!!! Russ

WOW, some activity here on the 'net. Russ, you better have that little beastie converted by then. Who would be our unofficial cruise director? Bill, Of course you will be fine. Just don't upgrade your MS a week before the date :BH:

It's still a ways off but I'm already looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Welcome to my world Gale. And, I didn't know that I was eponymed for the "iron butt". I feel so honored. :hail:

With that big V8, A/C, and you at the wheel, it would make a comfortable 5 hr drive, even if it rained :drive: That is even counting one stop for re-fuel and bodily function break. How big is your tank? And no, that is not code for.......

Woo Hoo! Almost end of year already!

Brenda and I have had a good year so far. Kicked off with the fantastic 2014 event in Cuba. Thanks everyone for making that such a great time! And, now finishing with thoughts of 7s dancing in our heads...

For the 2015 Midwest 7s meet. Brenda and I have already done most of the scouting so I expect we will start our serious planning in mid January and then post some official dates, locations, and times.

Brenda and I are REALLY looking forward to seeing everyone again soon!
