I've been 3 times, once with a fully loaded pick up with all my son's belongings in the back.

I've never run it real hard, but I have pushed the envelope in a few places a few times.

Here's an article I think you'll enjoy.

As good as it is, it doesn't even come close to the road to Hana

But the road to Hana is the only way in or out so it is packed with traffic all the time.

I took my 67 Sprite over the Dragon several years ago, fun drive. Very exciting in an old British car with no suspension upgrades and 155 80 13 tires.

I went several years back on a motorcycle. It surely didn't disappoint; it really is an amazing stretch of asphalt. However, I was more blown away by the Blue Ridge Parkway. The really great part of Deal's Gap is pretty short, but you can ride/drive the Blue Ridge Parkway pretty much as far as your tank of gas will take you, and the views as the elevation rises and falls is breathtaking.
